Easing Anxiety
Feelings of nervousness and anxiety associated with trips to the dentist are exceptionally common in persons of all ages and particularly prevalent in people who have had negative childhood dental experiences.
No matter the cause, we want you to feel comfortable and at ease at our office. Providing positive dental experiences is our goal and we make every effort to provide the treatment you need with confidence.
Measures that can help during alleviate dental anxiety
Please let us know if you have had or currently have feelings of nervousness
about your dental care. We can help you through dental anxiety in a number
of ways:
- We provide a calm and non-judgmental treatment environment.
- Extra time is taken to explain your procedure before and during
treatment. We also allow you time to take breaks during your treatment if needed. - You may bring a support person to your appointment.
- All procedures are done as painlessly as possible using appropriate local anesthetic.
- Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) can be given via nasal mask during your procedure upon request. This medication significantly improves feelings of nervousness and anxiety during your procedure and wears off within minutes, allowing you to drive
yourself to and from your appointment.
